The Once and Future Gardener
We chose to set The Once and Future Gardener in Monotype Bell from the 1930 digital version,
to capture the spirit of the age in which these articles and illustrations were created. The
Percy Smith ornamentation evokes the period fleuron designs. I selected a few of the original
magazine covers for the color sections, placed them chronologically, and ended with a Bauhaus design.
